Hello. This is my sliver of the internet. I will try (and likely fail) to keep it up-to-date. I'm — in no particular order — a math/CS/music nerd, programmer, (jazz) drummer, photographer, occasional origami enthusiast, SFF fan, and intellectual vagrant. That list is shifting and woefully incomplete, a fact that makes me slightly proud.
I completed my dissertation work in the early '00s in machine-learning, and then spent a couple of decades as a software engineer at Google (mostly in websearch, and mostly crafting in C++). My most recent work there was in the space of algorithmic fairness, and I remain particularly interested in topics at the intersection of technology and sociology.
